Tatiana Popova

I was born in 2001 and from the age of four I started drawing. I had at my disposal a large IKEA easel, a roll of paper and plenty of colored pastel crayons. Since then I already knew: “I want to become an artist”.
Parallel with school I was attending a vocational training program at one of the best art schools, Academy of Watercolor and Fine Arts of Sergey Adriaka in Moscow. The principles of Russian Academic Art influenced my style and have built a great artistic foundation for my career.
In the beginning of 2020 I decided to enroll in the Florence Academy of Art and in autumn my studies began in Italy. The school expanded my knowledge of art history and means of depicting nature. In my opinion, my works have become more truthful to real life, but remained vibrant in colors and lightening.
As one of the graduates in residency at the Academy, I had worked on building up a portfolio of works that are realistic and focus on capturing human experience. The primary medium that I use is oil. My art pieces are personal and individual in stylistic choices and narrative, since I drew inspiration from my Slavic heritage and stories of the past. Besides painting, I teach on a regular basis groups of different ages sharing my experience in realistic art. In the future, I am looking for more opportunities to educate people about art around the world and paint grand projects that will establish me as an individual artist.
