Enjoy an evening of bite-sized scenes by Bellini and Mozart in the birthplace of opera, brought to life by the emerging artists of Mascarade Opera.
Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi reimagines the story of Romeo and Juliet through soaring, intimate music, from Giulietta’s aching solo to a secret duet between the lovers. In Così fan tutte, Mozart explores the fragility of love as two couples are pushed into a playful but painful test of loyalty. Idomeneo, composed by a young Mozart, draws on ancient myth to explore a father’s impossible choice as fate unfolds.
Discover two distinct musical styles: Bellini’s flowing, expressive melodies and Mozart’s clear, lively compositions full of feeling. No need to follow full storylines. Each scene stands on its own, offering a glimpse into a world of feeling through voice and music. The Mascarade Opera Emerging Artists breathe new life into classic works, leaving a lasting impression beyond the stage.
