Sandeep Krishnan Sabu

I’m a sculptor and draughtsman based in Florence, originally from Kerala, India.
I work primarily with clay and drawing materials, drawn to their immediacy, how an idea can quickly take form, yet also how it can take endless time to evolve and refine.
I’m inspired by Rodin, his defiant embrace of the raw and imperfect, and his constant pushing against convention. His masterful understanding of form captures both energy and stillness in a way that feels alive. At the same time, I’m drawn to the quiet strength of Pietro Canonica’s work, where elegance and craftsmanship are seamlessly woven into every piece.
